About Jake Lake

Quick Bio on Jake Lake

My name is Jake Lake, and I’m proud to call Mapleton home for the past 18 years. Alongside my amazing wife, Jessica Lake, I’ve had the privilege of raising our four teenagers in this beautiful, close-knit community. Mapleton isn’t just where we live—it’s where we’ve built our lives, formed deep friendships, and committed ourselves to serving others.

Service has always been a central part of who I am. I spent eight years in the Utah Army National Guard as a member of the 141st Military Intelligence Battalion, where I learned the value of discipline, teamwork, and leadership. Those lessons continue to guide me today in every role I take on.

Over the years, I’ve been honored to serve Mapleton in a variety of capacities:

Member of the Mapleton Economic Development Committee (1+ years)

Planning Commission Member (5+ years), helping shape responsible growth and maintain our city’s charm

Currently I serve as an Executive Committee Member for Mapleton's 24th of July Pioneer Day Celebration (5 years), celebrating our Pioneer heritage and community spirit.

Volunteer Coach with Mapleton Recreation (12 years), investing in our youth and promoting healthy activities.

I believe in thoughtful leadership that preserves Mapleton’s unique character while preparing for a strong future. My focus is on keeping Mapleton a place where families thrive, community voices are heard, and smart decisions guide our growth.

I love Mapleton and am committed to continuing my service on the City Council if Elected with integrity, transparency, and a heart for our people.

Let’s work together to keep Mapleton a place we’re proud to call home.

Living in Mapleton

I grew up in California, where family was everything. Weekends were filled with sports and quality time with loved ones—memories I still cherishes. I was raised by two hardworking and devoted parents, I learned early on the value of dedication, hard work, and service.

In 2001, I moved to Springville and quickly fell in love with the view of Maple Mountain. When I married the love of my life, Jessica Tibbals Lake, in 2006, she asked me where I wanted to raise our future children. Without hesitation, I said Utah—specifically Mapleton.

I was drawn to the unique spirit of Mapleton: its breathtaking views, strong sense of community, and the shared values of family and hard work. It felt like home. I knew this was the place to put down roots, build lasting relationships, and give back through service to the community I have grown to love.

Professional Career

I began my professional career in architecture while attending college. I gained valuable experience working with several architectural firms across Utah and eventually found a fulfilling role at Ken Harris Architects in Provo. There, I discovered a true passion for designing buildings from the ground up. I found great satisfaction in transforming initial sketches, ideas, and client dreams into detailed construction drawings ready for builders to bring to life. My work spanned custom homes, commercial building, commercial interiors, hospitality, and master-planned communities.

In 2010, due to economic challenges and resulting layoffs, I transitioned from architecture to construction. I joined Complete Contracting Company (formerly R4 Construction Group), where I was able leveraged my architectural background to begin a new chapter as a contractor. Starting by designing and producing architectural plans for contractors, I embraced the shift and quickly adapted to the construction side of the industry.

Since joining the company in 2010, I have built a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial projects. As a Senior Project Manager at Complete Contracting Company, I oversee a range of developments including tenant improvements, restaurants, reception centers,  Class A office spaces, Retail buildings, amusement facilities, and custom residential builds. I thrive on complex challenges and bring a unique architectural perspective to every construction project I manage.

Hobbies

When I'm not working, you can usually find me at a sporting or performing arts event—either cheering on one of my four kids or coaching them. My passion for sports runs deep. Over the years, I have been heavily involved in coaching, from Mapleton Recreation programs with my 4 teenagers to 13 seasons with the Maple Mountain High School football team, and even coaching club soccer. I love giving back and being part of impactful, community-centered programs.

I also enjoy working alongside my wife, Jessica, in our family-owned business. Together with Jessica’s parents, they own and operate Northridge Valley Events Center in Mapleton. Jessica and I feel honored to play a part in one of the most important days in a couple’s new life together. Helping to create a memorable and magical experience for newlyweds and their guests is both a passion and a privilege for us.
